A Once in a Lifetime Experience over and over
Welcome to Helping Hands 4 Wildlife – A Vervet Monkey Volunteering Project
In April 2021, the reins of our rehabilitation center were taken over by Nicky, a dedicated conservationist with over 20 years of experience. The facility faced a significant setback when the previous owners, having immigrated to Portugal, left it under the assumption that it was in capable hands.
Nicky, on inspecting the property, was disheartened to discover its deteriorated state. The animals were in distress, the food supply was subpar, and the accommodation was unsuitable even for domestic animals. Witnessing this, Nicky couldn’t turn away. She fell deeply in love with the animals, prompting the birth of Helping Hands 4 Wildlife.
Our vision goes beyond a mere property purchase; it’s about creating a haven for these animals. The initial plan to transfer them to another center was reconsidered, and Nicky made it her mission to transform the facility into a place of healing and care.
At Helping Hands 4 Wildlife, the safety and well-being of our animals take precedence. The center underwent a profound transformation, shifting focus from the public lodge to a sanctuary solely dedicated to our furry friends. With immense passion, Nicky decided to close the lodge to the public, channeling all resources into creating a healthy environment for our resident Vervet Monkeys.
Join us in this noble cause! Volunteer with Helping Hands 4 Wildlife and be a part of our mission to provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere for these incredible creatures. Your support ensures the continuation of our commitment to wildlife conservation. Together, let’s make a difference!
